In His Word Wednesday: Ephesians 2:8-9

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Salvation is a gift of God, presented free and not in exchange for anything when we place our faith in Christ. It then magnifies God, and God alone. He blesses us not because of our merit but because of His goodness. I find great comfort in this because nothing I do, or have ever done, deserves the love God gives me. He loves me for me.

Thank you heavenly Father for loving me, for me, and not anything I do.

In His Word Wednesday: 1 Samuel 12:22

Time and again throughout the Old Testament, we find the Lord reaching out to His people, revealing Himself to them, desiring to be with them and to communicate with them.

1 Samuel 12:22
For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name's sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.

God desires a relationship with you in companionship, fellowship, and communion. We can count on the Lord, even if everyone else abandons us. So when loneliness engulfs us, the first thing we must do is turn our focus away from what we don't have to what we do have...God Himself!

You can never be alone once you have trusted Jesus as your Savior. He promises that He dwells within you when you have received Him into your life and that He is connected to you, just as a vine and a branch are connected. Although the depth of that intimacy, to a great extent, is up to you. How much intimacy do you desire with the Lord? Even so, He is always there, desiring to move ever closer to you.

Product Review: Fish Dog Tag

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

A few months ago, I purchase new collars and harnesses for two of my Dachshunds. I had already found a new dog tag for Dinky, but I wanted something different for Toby. Then I came across Dog Tag Art. They have a lot of super funny and cute dog tags.
After purchase, I receive my tag promptly. It arrived in a mailer envelope and was securely attached to a cute card. The front of the tag has a cute fish on it to match Toby's new collar.
The back has the important info (I blacked out my phone #'s). The tag is well made and seems to be scratch proof. It comes with a sturdy ring for attaching to the collar.
Here's a closeup of the new tag on Toby's fish collar...too cute.

I am very pleased with this tag. It is well made, a great price (cheaper than those tag making machines at pet stores), and very cute. I need to purchase new tags for their harnesses now, so I plan to purchase from Dog Tag Art again.

In His Word Wednesday: Exodus 3:19, 20

Exodus 3:19, 20
"But I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not even by a mighty hand. So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go."

I would like to share a piece from Charles Stanley's Life Principles on this verses:

"Pharaoh is probably  the best illustration in the Bible of a person with a hard heart. He thus provides a blueprint for what happens when a person refuses to accept and bend his or her will to the truth of God.

Pharaoh receive overwhelming evidence-plague after plague, sign after sign, miracle after miracle-and still refused to let the Israelites go. Even when faced with undeniable evidence of his error, Pharaoh refused to acknowledge that another was greater than he. In the end, his pride and hard-heartedness cost him his army and almost his kingdom.

All of us have stubbornly desired to have things the way we want them, even when our way opposes God's way. Every time we say no to God, we skirt the edges of rebelling once too often. If we repeatedly say no to God, then like Pharaoh we may develop a hard heart that leads to destruction."

Make it a point to say "yes" to God daily.

Cozy Saks For ALL Small Animals

When Dinky, my Dachshund, came to our home, I soon discovered his the insationable desire to bury in something. After getting tired of picking blankets up because he would root them off his bed, I decided to come up with a way he could get inside...the Cozy Sak was born. I tried several different materials, but the sturdiness, easy care, and variety has me always coming back to flannel and fleece. I have made many of these in two sizes, fitting the mini Dachshund and tweenie Dachshund.
This is a large Cozy Sak, measuring 19" x 25".
This medium Cozy Sak measures 17" x 20".
Then, Spike the hedgehog came to live at our home. He also love to bury and hide himself in or under things. So I sized down the Cozy Sak to a xsmall 10" x 10" for little Spike to enjoy.
I've recently sold a couple of x-small Cozy Saks to a customer who had guinea pigs. She contacted me and stated that her large guinea pigs loved them, but she would like to have them a little bigger. After her custom order was finished, I have started making small saks that measures 12" x 12".
Caroline shows you how comfy the small Cozy Sak is for larger guinea pigs and small rabbits. With the addition to the new size of Cozy Saks, I decided to add a micro size for the super small animals such as hamsters and mice.
I don't have a model for the micro Cozy Sak, but you can compare the size with my hedgehog, Lucy, standing next to it.

So if you wanting your small animal to be comfy, check out the many sizes and colors of Cozy Saks at King Mtn Treasures. Take 10% off your Cozy Sak with coupon code:KMTBLOG, expires April 30th, 2012.

In His Word Wednesday: Romans 11:29

As I find myself in a discussion over "once saved always saved," I wonder why some people struggle with this. I think of what Jesus did for me (and all of you), by sacrificing Himself on the cross for my sins, and I find myself humbled and wanting to show Him my gratitude. I feel the need to turn away from my sin and try to live a life pleasing to Him. After salvation, we all will slip up and fall into sin, but when we do, we should have great remorse and want to repent.

When we truly love someone, we want to please them. Salvation in about a life change, not just saying the words and then going back to the way you were living. I don't, and never have thought "I'm saved, now I can do anything I want." If you have these thoughts, take time to re-examine your heart.

Romans 11:29
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Once you have placed your faith in Him, God will never cast you away. He will never abandon you, reject you, or turn you away. As a loving Father, He will discipline you, but He will never throw you away.

Product Review: Dachshund Beanie

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

As I was searching for new Dachshund items on Etsy, I came across the adorable beanie with a Dachshund crocheted on it. I "favorited" the item with the intention of purchasing it over the weekend. When I went to my "favorites" and discovered the beanie had sold, I was severely disappointed. I mean what better way to represent my love for the breed than on a beanie. I contacted Jan at bitknit, to see if she would be making more or if she would make a custom hat in the colors I wanted. I was thrilled when she said she could make a custom one for me. We conversed a few times getting the color down. She was very willing to do what I wanted. I requested a dark pink or fuchsia, with a brown or grey Dachshund.
I receive the beanie faster than I expected for a custom order. It came in a bubble mailer and wrapped in tissue.
It also included a tag with care instructions.
Here's my adorable hat. She even added a cute little blue collar on the Dachshund.
The little Dachshund wraps around the hat.
I totally love my little Dachshund beanie. The color is wonderful and matches this sweater jacket that I purchase a few days before receiving it. I would highly recommend bitknit. Jan is wonderful to work with, her prices are great, and her workmanship is excellent. I think I need to order another one in neutral colors...lol.
